ADAM PARKER

D.O.

Having grown up in Lakeland and graduated with honors from The University of Florida, Dr. Adam Parker, returned to Lakeland after earning his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania and finishing his internship in Orlando, at Florida Hospital East. He feels that building and maintaining community is important for any medical practice because the doctor-patient relationship must be built on integrity, trust, and honesty. At True MedSpa, Dr. Parker insists on being completely honest with patients about potential results, the best procedures for any given condition, and any side effects. Dr. Parker is committed to treating patients individually, with no ‘cookbook’ medicine techniques. Each patient is unique and the procedures designed must fit each individual according to their desires and needs.

What began to excite Dr. Parker during his residency in Family Practice, was his exposure to cutting edge research related to maintaining optimal health through the latest in anti-aging medicine. Not only did the latest research show us how to change the course of disease, but add productive and active years to peoples lives. The goal in anti-aging is to maintain the bodies biochemistry through nutrition, weight loss, and hormone balancing, so our body ages gracefully. With Dr. Parker’s extra training in these areas, his hope is that diseases like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and metabolic disorders like high cholesterol, can be decreased, or avoided all together with the help of anti-aging medicine.

In getting familiar with this new research, Dr. Parker sought extra certification in external anti-aging as well. He is certified in a number of laser treatments, has advanced training in fillers of all kinds, as well as Botox. He has achieved certification through the Ageless Aesthetic Institute in Lasers and Injectables. Additionally he has many hours of post graduate training in techniques designed to reverse signs of aging and enhance beauty.

Of the two medical degrees awarded licenses in the United States, Dr. Parker chose the D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) over the M.D. because it not only gives him the four-year medical school training of an MD but also the additional skill of osteopathic manipulative medicine and techniques, which have been shown to improve treatment results for a range of problems when used in conjunction with traditional surgery and prescriptions. In pursuing this additional training, Dr. Parker is one of the many cutting-edge physicians who are adding osteopathic training to an “M.D. base set” of skills and knowledge.

Dr. Parker is a member of the AOA, as well as the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). He has his Board Certification and is licensed in the state of Florida. Dr. Parker is also a physician at Lakeland Regional and Bartow Regional Hospitals.

Most doctors can apply current medical practices to your particular ailment, but Dr. Parker is the kind of physician who will not just treat you as an “ailment” or a project, but rather as an individual and in terms of whole-body health. To be treated by him is to get to know him, which is a course of action his current patients recommend.
