Strawberry Laser
Strawberry Laser is a treatment performed at TrueMedSpa in Lakeland by our body-contouring specialists. Unlike liposuction, SmartLipo and CoolSculpting, the Strawberry Laser is a non-invasive laser treatment allowing you to shed inches in minutes! The device involves low-level laser diode panels that are belted around a person’s problem areas for a series of eight 20 minute-sessions. The portability & flexibility of the Strawberry Laser belt allows for the treatment of just about any problem area. This includes removing unwanted fat in the back, arms, belly, hips, inner and outer thighs, knees and chest (gynecomastia).
How it Works
When the Class 2, 3B lasers are wrapped around the targeted area, the beams penetrate the skin just deep enough to reach the fatty layer. Once the Strawberry Laser hits the fat or the adipocyte cells in this layer, a rapid chain of events takes place. Pores form on top of the fat cells, allowing them to release water, glycerol and fatty acids into the interstitial space located underneath the fatty layer of the skin. As the contents of the fat cells spill out, the adipocyte cells reduce in size. This reaction does not affect any of the neighboring structures such as the skin, blood vessels or nerves and it is completely painless. The lymphatic system then does the rest of the work by removing the fat through the liver and kidneys, where it is processed and passed out in the urine. We recommend use of the Strawberry Laser’s technology in a series of 8 treatments. This is because with each treatment the laser is able to penetrate the layer of the fat deeper and deeper, which gives you better results.
STRAWBERRY LASER TREATMENT
Upon arrival and prior to your first treatment, our body-contouring specialists will assess your candidacy by reviewing your medical history and discussing your goals and expectations in your complimentary consultation. It is essential that you have realistic expectations regarding what results can be achieved by the Strawberry Laser system. We also want to teach our clients how diet and exercise will affect their results. After your consultation, we will schedule a time for treatment.
During the treatment, you will be pampered to feel relaxed. Much like a warm blanket, we will wrap the laser belt(s) around the area(s) being treated for the designated time frame, usually between 10 to 20 minutes. Many patients admit to falling asleep as the belt feels like a warm blanket. Although there is no recovery time, patients are encouraged to exercise after every treatment to help kick-start the lymphatic system in disposing of the fat.

TREATMENT
During this noninvasive procedure, a skin-protecting gel is first applied to the skin. The CoolSculpting® applicator is then positioned over that area, quickly cooling the fat cells until they are destroyed with very little discomfort. While the fat cells would be suctioned out of the body during liposuction, this procedure allows for the destroyed cells to be eliminated from the body naturally, dissipating slowly over a period of a few months. The entire process takes about an hour to complete.
RESULTS
The majority of patients who undergo this procedure will notice a difference in bulges after just a few weeks. This will continue to improve as the body eliminates the destroyed fat cells over the following couple of months. The skin over the treated areas will retract on its own since its elasticity was not tampered with during the procedure.
Typically, there is no need to begin a new diet or exercise program following CoolSculpting®. If you are already participating in a regular exercise regime and eating healthy, continuing to do so can only help your body heal faster and keep the fat deposits from reappearing. The majority of patients will only need to undergo one treatment per targeted area, and if a repeat is needed, it can be done within three months of the original treatment.
